Snow!

Maria got to enjoy snow for the first time!  She loves being outside so it was no surprise that she liked the snow too.  We bundled everyone up to help shovel the driveway.  As you can see here, Jack was the only one shoveling for a least a few minutes as I was snapping photos and Jeff was hanging on to Maria.

We checked out the evergreen trees to see how they were doing.  Maria really wanted to get down and walk though.  For a while that was fine, but a person is only comfortable for so long bending down...

so eventually we stood her up in the planter box!  Ingenious!  She was happy standing up and no one had to hang on to her.

After we cleaned the driveway out, we headed out to the wetlands to go sledding on the hill.  Actually first we had to go purchase a sled.  I almost bought one a few weeks ago, but held off.  Luckily, Alco had some left so we didn't even have to venture to Van Wert or Lima.  Whew!

We had perfect timing on getting out to the wetlands.  Just as we parked, the triplets (whom we tend to refer to as "the boys") and Olivia came bounding out of their house ready to play in the snow!  The kids all had fun sledding.  This was Jack's first time going down a big hill by himself.  He wasn't too happy when his sled tipped over.

Dad and Maria take a run down the hill.  Maria really enjoyed sledding so it was good for all of us.  I took a jillion pictures considering we were only sledding an hour or so.

Jack got back into the action after his first run and enjoyed sledding with Olivia for the rest of the time.  The two of them get along great at this age: She likes telling people what to do (this is according to her parents) and Jack enjoys having someone to play with and goes along with whatever Olivia wants to do.

We even got Zane and Andrew to go in the sled with Maria while Jeff pulled them down the hill!
