4th of July Weekend - Mom

On the evening of June 30th, we headed up to Wisconsin to visit my cousin, Kim, and see my parents and some of my younger siblings!  The kids really well on the trip.  We ended up stopping about 4 times on the way up for Maria to eat and such.  I think she just got tired of being in her seat and instead of eating wanted to just "visit" with me. :P  The next morning, Maria stayed at the house with Grandpa Meyer while Jeff, Jack, and I went out on the boat.  This was Jack's first time being on a boat and he seemed to love it!

We even got Jack to go on a tube ride with Dad!  He was a little unsure about it, but Jeff talked it up and got him to go.  He had a nice short ride.

After his tube ride, he got to "help" Kim drive the boat.

 Having fun on the boat!

I hadn't been skiing since before the kids were born, but I still remembered how!  It was at this point on our vacation that the camera broke.  As I was skiing, the tube flew out of the boat and as Jeff tried to catch it, the camera hit the side of the boat and the lens popped out.  Jeff tried pulling it out and attempting to fix it, but couldn't get it back in

We took a few other pictures on our vacation, but not many.  These are compliments of the camera on our phone.  Maria had her first "swim" and she really seemed to enjoy it!

We all had a nice "swim" in the pool and had a great rest of the holiday weekend in WI.  We went to the Milwaukee fireworks that night.  Jack was SO excited for the fireworks and had been talking about them for a few weeks before we left!  When the fireworks actually happened, his eyes were glued to the sky with his hands over his ears since they were kind of loud.  He loved watching them even though they were about 45 minutes long!
Funny side story: The girls (LeeAnn, Natalie, and myself) needed to use the restroom so we headed over to find the long row of port-a-johns.  As we were patiently waiting in line, we started commenting on how long it was taking people.  You know, it's not like these are millionaire bathrooms or anything so by the time we got to the front of the line we were betting each other on who could be the fastest.  I don't remember who won but the people behind us were cracking up and cheering for us as we left.  Fun times.
The rest of the trip was nice, just relaxing and visiting.  Jack and Maria were great on our way home as we only stopped once!  We made it one long stop and it worked out great.  We stopped at a mall that had this indoor play space so Jack played while Maria got some food and we could stretch our legs without roasting since it was about 90 degrees or so outside.  Thanks for having us in WI Kim and Angie!
