Washington, D.C. Day 3 & Home - Maria's Birthday!

Our last day was really spent mostly in the van.  As you can see, the kids stayed in their p.j.s for the first hour or so of our trip.  Grandma Bockey had the awesome idea of different brown lunch bags that had different things to do in them.  We really didn't open many on the way to D.C. so there was plenty to open on the way home.  We found new books...

fun little toys to play with...

and stickers to decorate the brown lunch bag with!  Super cool ideas and great future reference for car trips.  Notice that Maria's dressed here. ;)

Jack showing off his sticker bag.  The kids again did pretty good on the car ride home.  A little bit more whiny and restless but overall did great for a l.o.n.g. van ride home.

We did celebrate Maria's birthday a little bit by baking brownies and putting candles in one and singing happy birthday.  She also got a new bath toy that day from us!  It's on the wall behind her.  It was an instant hit with her and Jack and they both wanted to take a bath about everyday for the next few weeks.
