Washington D.C. traveling and Day 1

We went to Washington, D.C. for the March for Life in January with Jeff's brother and sister-in-law.  The kids did a great job on the long car trip and the trip in general!  We went swimming the evening we got to our hotel in Arlington, VA in the "indoor" swimming pool.  At one time, it was probably an outdoor pool and they enclosed it by putting a greenhouse type glass covering over it.  It was nice to relax in it for a bit, but was c.o.l.d. when you got out.

Friday morning we headed into D.C. to do a little sightseeing before the march started.  Jack's gotten really interested in the flag and the star spangled banner song so a must see was the exhibit about it at the American History Museum.

Posing with a statue of a lady...I forget who she was.

A Lincoln Highway marker!  For those who don't know, the Lincoln Highway runs through Delphos. :)

This was one of Maria's favorite things about the place...pushing her stroller up and down the ramp.

Jack on the front steps of the American History Museum with the Washington Monument in the background.

Running into people we knew was fun!  Mandy (on the left with the red, white, and blue scarf) works a TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) weekend with Jeff and I.

The kids did great on the march especially since their feet were freezing by the end since their parents didn't put their boots on them that morning.  Oops.  Curt (Jeffs brother) was awesome and carried Maria for a good portion of the march while she slept.

Marching up the hill on Constitution Ave.  Looking back at the sea of people behind us.

After the march we stopped at our representative's office, Jim Jordan, and said hello.  We caught him right before he left and he was super nice and let us warm up in his office.
