This morning Dad took his cross country kids and met up with a guy, Eric Ebinger, who is running the Lincoln Highway across Ohio starting today (Lincoln's Birthday) and ending on Monday (President's Day). Some cross country runners from each of the county schools ran with him for about 6 or so miles. Delphos St. John's met up with him and the Lincolnview runners at Dutch Mill. Apparently back in the day the Dutch Mill was a stop along the Lincoln Highway complete with a garage, tavern, and possibly an inn. It eventually became just a local bar and at one time had a windmill on top of it.

Mom snapped a picture of the vehicles that followed the runners. The yellow one is Eric's wife, Misty. The white van was Lincolnview's head coach and Eric got a sherriff's escort across the county.

Dad and his runners looking ready to go. It was quite windy, but luckily it was at their backs most of the way.

While Dad was running, Mom and I went driving around. Partly because I fell asleep and Mom wanted me to stay asleep. While driving she found an old one room school house. Random, I know.

They made it into Delphos and stopped at Memorial Park right at Lincoln Highway and Main St. The Delphos Herald talked to them and also took their picture. If you want to follow Eric's journey across Ohio go to www.thelincolnrun.com
